Being at the 'mouth' of a valley , Msida tends to flood when it rains.

Water rushes down towards the sea from surrounding cities at higher levels and often causes floods, bringing traffic to a halt in the area opposite the Parish Church dedicated to St. Joseph.

The most sensible thing to do in such a case is to avoid the area and find other routes to your destination.

It is worth mentioning, that the authorites are embarking on a project to solve the flooding problem in this area, so we should see an improvement in the future.
