$89 a night gets you something wild! Ok folks this hotel is totally out of the ordinary. It’s laid out like an old 50’s motel, but all funky and cheesy in a good way. It’s in a busy area of San Francisco, but once you walk into the courtyard you here the piped in jungle noises. It also has a wacky pool (it’s always too cold in this city FYI to swim unless you totally liquored up). The hotel has a very popular night club called BACKFLIP. It’s often frequented by the “stars”. I went there once with the band Everclear. The rooms are decorated in a offhanded tiki sort of way. Each spacious 50's style bungalow room is decorated with handmade bamboo furnishings, tropical plants. All guestrooms have views of the courtyard and pool.

Services and Amenities • Complimentary poolside continental breakfast • Free car parking and bus parking available • Outdoor heated swimming pool with San Francisco landmark underwater mural by Francis Forlenza called "My Fifteen Minutes" • Complete concierge services including staff-authored guide books to The City • Room service from Waiters On Wheels • Access to nearby fitness center • Same- day laundry service available • Massage service available in your room or poolside • Backflip Cocktail Lounge

It?s not so much the price but the location in San Francisco. Downtown is: Chinatown, Union Square, Financial District however the hotels are having pricing wars so you can get great deals in this area. The places in town that are hip local and the ?City? are: The Haight, Noe Valley, Maria (however I?m not that hot it, it?s a bit yuppie), The Castro if you gay. Nob Hill for the stunning prettiness of it. Fisherman?s Warf is NOT San Francisco. We never ever go down there. It?s weird, and it?s 100% tourists and not fun. I mean you HAVE to go to Alcatraz (book at least one month in advance) but that?s it. Here are my recommended hotels on a tight budget: (This is my new travel web site by the way) Downtown: Hotel Astoria, cute old-time hotel looks arruond $50 a night, but check the price and hotel: http://www.res99.com/hotel/10007 580-10191560B.html?ses=a59f0ca2ff5a3f4a95acfeb1bc88682889063
Nob Hill: Grosvonor Hotel, About $96 a night. http://www.res99.com/hotel/10007580-10216215O.html?ses=a59f0ca2ff5a3f4a95acfeb1bc88682889063
