The hotel was the center feature of one of the best nights I ever had (story under Galway). Lets just say that this is where the Oyster Festival Black Tie Ball is held every year. And at 5:00am in the morning, new musicians where just showing up.
Unique Qualities: Location
Due to open early in 2001, the hotel is situated in Galway Harbour overlooking the Bay, only a short walk from Eyre Square.
Rooms
The rooms are due to conform to the new Radisson designs, being either Italian, Scandinavian, maritime or oriental in style. All will be furnished sumptuously to the highest standard and are due to have interactive television, internet access and computerised controls way in advance of any other property in Ireland.
Restaurant
It is still to be decided exactly how many restaurants there will be and of what style, but there will almost certainly be a formal restaurant and a more relaxed brasserie.
Exterior
Ultra-modern, the hotel will be dominated by glass and steel.
Lobby
The lobby is due to be very large and imposing. It will be very modern with contemporary furnishings.
General
The hotel will be a stunning addition to the portfolio of deluxe hotels in Ireland. It has an ideal location. A full report will be compiled after opening. (ML 02/01)
