Main part of my job&works,to be inside of the newest architectures.. more than 10 different countries and Turkey.Very few designs and projects get me excited..I believe that architecture must be SUSTAINABLE..look at your cities and newest towers and buildings and tell me that which buildings are.. you can keep them for next generation..I am sure that very few.. When I be boring,I always walk inside of old narrow streets,it shows me real Tbilisi..sometimes in Baku, sometimes Istanbul,China,Tbilisi or Valparaiso..I feel that I am walking inside of a fairy tale...

T'bilisi is well known for its civilization. You can see some of the amazing samples of the "bourgeois culture","art nouveau","Soviet period",etc. At the beginning of the 20th century lots of great Art Nouveau houses, banks, schools, shops were built in T'bilisi. Nowadays, the most of the art nouveau style houses and shops reneweded and still continue.. I believe that they are great cultural heritage of the city and its citizens..NOT MCDonalds!!!!!

Things To Do: Tbilisi's Sulphur baths

Sulphur baths,Turkish hammam or Roman..anyhow,I've not been there..'cause it was a walk along the Mtkvari river.Next time?? never:) I do not like hammams:( As you know that Balnea(small Banyo-bath) or Thermae(Termal-large bathhouses) were communal activities and most of the bathhouses had separate facilities for men and women. I've been lots of Roman ruins-of course I'd search Roman baths- in Turkey,I might say that Turks've been copied hammam than Romans.same tectonical design, ceromony and rituals, etc. But the Turks developed very hot baths, which to this days are still known as Turkish baths..

Historically, well known winemaking region in Georgia is Kakheti, with Alazi river valley in it. Alazi valley is located at 200-500m above the sea level and is spread from northwest to southeast at 110km,its average width is about 20km. From the left bank Alazani Valley is walled by 3000-4000m high mountain ranges.Such a unique geographical location and diversified soils, from clay mild fertile to low fertile sandy-stony,presents ideal terms for vineyards..and do not miss to taste the great Georgian wines..

blint Fri Mar 28, 2008 18:37 UTC I agree with you totally about the super sizing of Georgia ;) Loved the red tree photo! Great shopping and restaurant tips too :) | hunterV Fri Mar 28, 2008 16:41 UTC Oh, yes, you've had a great stay there! Good for you! | iwys Sun Feb 3, 2008 21:15 UTC More of your excellent photos. | estatubatuar Mon Dec 31, 2007 05:12 UTC I really enjoyed your comments about Georgian Table Music. As far as I know, you and I are the only non-Georgians I know of in VT that enjoy its organic dissonance! |
