Istanbul: A city located in two continents !!

by aliamiri - last update: Jun 18, 2003

Why in Istanbul?

|stanbul: Suleyman Mosque
It was not my decision! as you can see in my Prague page, I had a business visit to the Czech Republic on february 2001 along with my friend, but there was no direct flight between Tehran and Prague. There were a few choices through european cities, but all of them needed transit visa (which is difficult to obtain for an Iranian citizen) except for Istanbul (Turkey). On going way we just stopped in Ataturk airport for few hours, but in back way, we had one and half day staying in Istanbul.
Yeah, certainly a nice chance to visit a beautiful and stunning city, and even better: as we were flying with Turkish Airlines, so they paid for our hotel! :)
And this is the story of my Istanbul visit ...

Pros:"many places to visit - really cheap - no visa requires or easy visa policy"
Cons:"too crowded and traffic - some people are not so friendly"
In A Nutshell:"A big city in two continents - worth to visit for everyone"

Hi Ali! How are you? Lucky you to get a paid stopover in such a nice city! The Turkish kebabs are delishous!

Lovely picture of Suleyman Mosque. Too bad you could only stay for a couple of days. I hope you get a chance for a longer visit someday.
