Ganlanba is located in southern Yunnan, downriver from the city of Jinghong. It is a short 45 minute bus ride from Jinghong.

In my opinion, Ganlanba is the closest thing to Thailand you will see - it has a semi-tropical climate and the ethnic minority, the Dai, is very similar to Thai.

So for you Chinese, Ganlanba is a great place to visit Thailand without leaving your own country.

Dai girls wear their traditional clothing, which is full of bright colors. This particular photograph is at a Dai house, which is always raised about 3 meters off the ground.
