Lijiang is a popular tourist destination in Yunnan, both for Chinese tourists and Western backpackers. It is a well-preserved ancient city, with beautiful architecture. The real jewel may be the Naxi, a very unique ethnic minority where the woman is the dominant figure.
Lijiang itself is a great destination but there is so much within a short distance from the city; likewise it is a perfect hub for many adventures that await beyond it, such as the Tiger Leaping Gorge in Daju. |
| | This will be a familiar site in Lijiang. You will notice 6 buttons on the back of their clothes - this is a symbol of strength. But I do not want to spoil all of the fun, the rest is for you to find out when you are there! |
