Vancouver Island is named after Britain's Captain Vancouver.
Quadra Island is named after Spain's Captain Quadra.
A long time ago, before Quarda Island was circumnavigated, the whole mass was called Vancouver and Quadra island.
Vancouver and Quadra were contemporaries. And explored Canada's west coast together.
Vancouver Island is the nicest place that I have ever benn. It has all of the land resources and all of the sea resources. It ihas a temperate climate, deep oceans, mountains and glaciers. It is great.
If you have not been, you must go. It is only a ferry ride from Vancouver. It is a must see. A jewel in the pacific.
With a funky laid back lifestyle, Vancouver Island is truly the land of the fruits and the nuts!

- Cons:Trees are too green. Air is too clean. People are too nice.
