  • L'Anfiteatro Flavio better know as Colosseo is the most famous monument in the world.
The name Colosseo come from a colossal statue of Nero built near the monument. This statue was destroy many years ago.
Il Colosseo is 48mt height and it was the favourite place by the Romans that went there to see bleeding battles with fierce animals!
It's sedate by four floors with many staircases and galleries. From the parapets it's possible to see a splendid view on Rome. The creator of this monument is unknown, it was begun by Vespasian as a simbol of the Roman Empire and inaugurated by Titus. The bloodiest duels were invented by Emperor Claudius, hundred of gladiators fought dragged into the arena where an axcited public was waiting!
Inside the Colosseo many Christians were persecuted and killed.Only in 313 year with the Emperor Costantino, was decreted the end of shows.

  • This is for me most beautiful square of Rome!
The history of the square goes back to Ancient Rome, here there was the Circus of the Emperor Domitian. Today the square is surrounded by old houses but in the past here there were great steps of circus.
Here were carried out mock sea battles, public shows, games etc.
The buildings that surround the square was constructed between the 1600's and 1700's. Pope Innocent X began to arrange the public square, with the recostructio of Phampilj Palace and the church of S.Agnese.
For me the most beautiful thing of Piazza Navona is the central Fountain of the Rivers built by the famous BERNINI.. On the top of rocks sit the giants symbolizing the rivers of the four Continents: the Nile, the Ganges, the Danube and the River of the Plata.

To built FONTANA DI TREVI was needed to work for 30 years.
