If you want a beach vacation without the crowds, Belize is it. Caye Caulker wasn't as touristy as we expected it to be - all the white people migrate to the boats to go snorkeling all day so you have the whole island to yourself!; the Split is a great place to hang out during this time because no one is there! you can even see some pretty cool fish from this spot - we saw a manta ray!
Tobacco Caye...I don't even want to tell you about it because then everyone will go! I'll just say this...5 acres of pure island bliss...but watch for falling coconuts.

Belize reminded me of my home country, Canada, but obviously with a more carribean feel. I think it was just the mass mix of different cultures that gave me that feeling. Usually you leave a country with one word to describe it...but not so with Belize; Garifuna, Mexican, Guatemalan, Honduran, Chinese, Mennonite, Rasta, American, British, Australian....they're all there and they all make up Belizean culture!
