Saying goodbye to San Diego

Me and the boys in Seaport Village
I'm writing this as I pack my bags, as I leave tomorrow to go back to England. I write this on my last day because it's only then that you really reflect on what has been, what you've experienced and what you'll miss. San Diego has been a FANTASTIC place to live (near) for 5 months. As far away from England as I am, I feel at home here and can envisage myself back here in a few years time. The wonderful parks, the beautiful harbour, the laid-back locals, tasty food, GORGEOUS weather and brilliant atmosphere.

So much to do...

I visited San Diego almost every weekend, taking the Coaster from Oceanside to the Santa Fe depot. Arriving in SD, I would go to Jamba Juice to get my 'Protein Berry Pizzazz', perhaps head to Seaport Village to sleep amongst the local homeless or read; catch the bus to Balboa Park to again sleep or read, or go to the Museum of Art; ride on the Coronado ferry or wander around the Gaslamp District.

Not just for tourists....

San Diego is a place for tourists and locals. It's so laid-back it's impossible to get stressed - the streets are very rarely busy or crowded, and there's just a plesant atmosphere here. Whether you're planning a week's visit or thinking about moving here, you really cannot go wrong with SD. I have the same feelingsabout it now as when I first visited. It's just a shame it's so far from England, or I'd be coming back a lot sooner.

Heehee, like you, I totally enjoy the Protein Berry Pizzazz at JJ's and feel that San Diego is a great place. Something about SD that's so warm and inviting, (besides the great weather and military hunks). =)

Well Sophie this is a nice page so far. I will admit I was a bit disappointed in the zoo. I did not feel like the animals looked all that healthy. The WAP on the other hand is great. =^oo^=
