Luna Park is a now-defunct fun fair ~ complete with fun house, rides and chaotic colours. Although it is no longer in operation (having closed for the last time in the mid-90's), it is still a great place to visit and wander around. The atmosphere is half ghost-town and half movie-set ~ I loved it.

You enter Luna Park through a monumental Art Deco mouth. Yes, a fantastically-coloured laughing mouth. You can visit one of the incarnations at the Powerhouse Museum. . .otherwise make the short trip to Luna Park for the real thing.

Kirribilli House is the city residence of the Australian Prime Minister ~ I have to admit I was surprised how close we could get to it. Obviously, you can't enter, but it's a pretty lot and home. . .the lush green landscape in the neighbouring area is also lovely to wander.
