I haven't stayed in one...see my other hotel tips...but needless to say, staying a night at a lov hotel must be a helluva experience. (and a bit noisy)

Most customers are non married couple who go there for a couple hours. But you can also rent a room for the night. Some hotels have "theme rooms" which can be quite interesting...

I didn't feel like trying the international chain of hotels and went for a well located Ryokan. Taito Ryokan is not the most modern place in the world but as you can see on their web site, it's neat, clean and well located.

If you party all night and just care about being able to walk home...who cares !

The staff is very friendly and the customers from all over the world.

I stayed at a Ryokan...i wasn't too keen on spending 5 days in a capsule...but people who tried it told me it's definitely worth it.

Some are very luxurious with sauna, massage and oriental baths.

If you are not claustrophobic and want a cheap stay in Tokyo, try it out !

Unique Qualities: The tiny place includes: Alarm. Bath. Fax (paid). Intercom. Japanese restaurant. Sauna. Video (paid). Towel. Toothbrush (free). TV.

It's men only...anyway, there's no double bed.
