Assumption Cathedral - Bangkok
Assumption Cathedral Assumption Cathedral Review

A bit hard to find by walk but worth the visit ! This cathedral was built in 1910 in a Romanesque style. It is surrounded by a "Place" which really gives the whole location a European feeling. The interior is beautiful with the blue ceiling and the impressive altar (from France)

Wat Arun - Bangkok

Wat Arun

So many things to see Chao Phraya River Review

Make sure you do the ride on the river and stops one each side to visit the different temples. I highly recomment Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaeo, Wat Arun (on the other side) and the National Museum

Farang Guards - Bangkok

Farang Guards

Wat Pho's Farang Guards Wat Pho Review

When i saw those, i thought they were clowns...

Actually, these are caricatures of Westerners with big noses and beard. Seems like 200 years later...things haven't changed !

The way my ancestors colonized Siam in the 19th century...that caricature is well deserved
: )

Wat Pho, yai wang ! Wat Pho Review

Rebuilt in the 1780s by Rama I, Wat Pho is really worth the visit. It has a traditional medicine center (including a massage center, closed when i was there).

The Reclining Buddha is a most see. Check out it's feet. The details are just amazing.

The Main house (Main Bot) has a big shrine with a meditating Buddha. It's also all Gold plated and amazing by all the details in it's tiniest parts.
