After waking up for Sunrise, which I HIGHLY recommend, we returned to the Cedar Pass Lodge for some fuel. Breakfast starts at 7:30am and we were right there waiting. The Dining room has a diner like atmosphere, but it also has fantastic views of the Cedar pass area of the Badlands. We sat right up front for the best view. Service was fast and friendly, after and enjoyable meal, and tour around the gift shop, we contiued around the park.

Favorite Dish: Oh the famous Indian Fry bread! I was actually a bit disappointed in it, it is like a greasy, holeless donut, but not terribly sweet. It is served with honey to remedy that, but after a few bites, Lou and I had had quite enough. You might love it though, lots of other customers raved about so much, they took the recipe home.

Stop it, I can't possibly get to all these beautiful US National Parks! The badlands area looks amazing - and I have to agree that rental car freedom is the way to go. Even 'Wall Drug' looks familiar, maybe I'm thinking 'South of the Border'!?

What a stunning place! Love your photos as always. Did you at least have your free ice water at Wall Drug?!

Wow, it does look beautiful here. Bobby needs to get to the Dakotas to complete his 50 states, so we'll have to stop and see the Badlands. And Wall Drug too just because it does suck so much:D.
