We ran off to investigate the Big Boulder Field at Hickory Run State park. It's a nice little uncrowded park with lots of fun dirt roads to drive on.

Hickory Run State Park is not far off Rt 80 in the Pocono Mountain Region of Eastern Pennsylvania. The park has lots of hiking trails, fishing streams, snowmobiling paths ect, but it's main attraction is the large boulder field created by glaciers during the last ice age. It is a national natural landmark. The large expansive field (16 acres!) is surrounded by pine trees. The rocks are all different shapes and sizes and are at a depth of 10 feet. Walking through the field feels like crossing a stream without water. We had a lot of fun hopping from one stone to the next. The park asks that no one removes any stones or defaces them. Unfortunately not everyone listens to the rules and graffitti covers more stones then one might expect, which we found to be very disappointing.
