Ah Page. What can we say about Page. it's a very normal town that just happens to be very close to some amazing natural wonders. It's not a tourist town, it's not a cute town. It's just....well normal. In any event it does a good enough job hosting. Lot's of chain hotels to choose from, not terribly exciting, but comfortable and inexpensive. A few restaurants to go to that were OK...actually most everything we did was based out of this one strip mall... But as I said it's the NATURAL wonders you come here for!
Antelope Canyon. One of the big draws to this area is the magical slot canyon called Antelope. It is probably the most famous of all the slot canyons. |
| | Horseshoe Bend. Just minutes outside of town, this overlook is well worth the short sandy hike. (though if you are afraid of heights, be prepared! there is no platform, just you hanging over the edge of a cliff!) |
| | Not to mention Lake Powell. Lake Powell is at the heart of the Glen Canyon National Recreation area. It's water winds it's way through the canyon in little alcoves and bends. Though man made by the Glen Canyon Dam, the Lake is truly spectacular. A perfect place to rent a houseboat and explore. Also, just a couple hours away is one of the most famous places on Earth, The Grand Canyon! There are so many other wonders close by, the Vermillion Cliffs, Coyote Buttes, the Wave, ect....You could spend a LONG time exploring the area around page, sadly we had only one night....
