The new frontier Howdy folks. It's little miss Erin loadin up the wagon to conquer the rough and tumble mountains of Montana. With my books, pots and pans, cats and dog I will be chef to the Lazy K Bar Ranch http://www.lazykbar.net/ for the next three months. I look forward to the peace and solitude, but leave a big part of my heart to the people I leave behind. Without much chance for outside contact, my connections will be limited, but I have lots of time to write while I wait to get online again. Y'all be good now. |

A new Chapter Again, Providence has thrown a curve my way. My intentions not so long ago were focused on a cross country voyage to live in California, close to family. As I finished my final term in the Associates program I began to wonder about pursuing a nutrition degree again. Not a week after that decision was made, a brighter future literaly walked into my life. In just a short time I have already begun to explore so much more of what this city has to offer. I've seen a number of restaurants, which I hope to write about soon, as well as just walking around with my eyes a little more open to the world around me. Also, in about a month I will be in a completely new environment as the chef for a great ranch out in Montana. With a summer of hard work in the beauty of nature, and a extraordanairy life back in RI waiting in September, there is little that I won't be rushing to explore |
Rhode Island Who ever thought I would live in Providence, Rhode Island? I couldn't have even predicted that one. It all started in Hampton, Virginia when I started school at Johnson & Wales. I sped through my first year with no problem and decided I wanted to go to the home campus so I could have better academic opportunities. Well, I worked at Foxwoods all summer and fall and went to school as well. I was so cramped for time that I saw little of what the city or campus had to offer. One thing I loved was my long drives to work through the tree filled hills, especially on sunny fall days when the leaves were changing. I also was able to experience the club scene a small bit and enjoyed the energy of the city on those fun filled nights. Fortunately for me I was spared the terrible winter out here since I was living in Sacramento from December to March while I did my internship for school. Now I'm back and while spring was in the air out West, we are getting 2-4 inches of snow today and it's the middle of March. |

Virginia February 2000 in Montana, I packed a 91 Jeep with my pots & pans, a cat, a dog, a computer and a few pieces of clothing. I made my way across the country to Hampton Virginia. For a short while I lived in an apartment and then found a great little cottage on the Chesapeake Bay. I Worked for the cable company and attended my Freshman year of school at Johnson & Wales. I enjoyed the mild winter and beautiful fall weather. I also enjoyed visiting places like the MacArthur Museum and Colonial Williamsburg. |
