Being Irish, I was delighted when I got to visit this beautiful island for St. Patrick's Day two years ago. Don't believe 'em when they say that the Irish don't celebrate this "American holiday." We got to Dublin at 8 pm on St. Pat's night and headed straight to Temple Bar, an area of pubs and restaurants popular with tourists and locals alike. Fighting lines, we finally got our first shot of Jamison and pint of Guiness (a sickly combination!). Spent the next day on a bus across Ireland to Galway, still sporting a shamrock tattoo that mysteriously appeared on my cheek the night before.

Pros:friendly people, beautiful green landscape, fun culture
Cons:crazy bus drivers!
