Getting TO/AROUND: Taxi 's in Istanbul are a cheap way of getting around. You can safely use taxis at any hour.
Some drivers may try to take a longer route, and some may decide to tip themselves by giving you less change. But this rarely happens if you act like you know your way around (even if you don't). You may get lucky and ride one of the "special taxis" (which are usually around the Sultanahmet region). Don't be suprised if they offer you tea or coffee, ask you what kind of music you'd like, etc.
