"Capital of Pakistan" Islamabad by Digi
Islamabad Travel Guide: 418 reviews and 878 photos
Islamabad, the modern, small and remarkably clean capital of Pakistan.
While Islamabad is a nice city, and is pretty clean and calm; it gives a false impression of Pakistan. No other city in Pakistan is quite like Islamabad, and Islamabad is sterile compared to the rest of the cities in Pakistan. However, it still has many interesting sights, and can be good for the traveler who wants to take a break from the hustle and heat of Pakistan.
Islamabad can also be a good place to start your exploration of the mountanous northern parts of the country. The sister city of Rawalpindi is a bit more like the rest of Pakistan, and is only about 15 minutes from Islamabad.
- Pros:Clean, relaxed, a lot of green
- Cons:can be a little too quiet
- In a nutshell:A great city to rest in, but more likely you'll just pass through or use it to start a trip to the North.

nice page. very informative.
the mosque looks gr8... good info on islamabad i didn't know that rikshas and donkey Carts were not allowed.
So funny, we were looking for the supermarket for a long time until we discovered, there was no supermarket as we know it!
The Faisal Masjid is an architectural masterpeice. Actually, it's the only popular non-traditional and modern looking type of mosque I can think of. Great intro to Islamabad. Thanks!
I've heard it's the biggest in the world too - I think it's true! :)
