"Basel mit Myndo" a Basel Travel Page by pchamlis

Until very recently, I worked for a publishing magazine (ForeWord Magazine, www.forewordmagazine.com). Part of my job was to attend the huge international rights book fair in Frankfurt, Germany. During our many email conversations, my VT friend Corinne (Myndo) invited me to visit her and her family in Basel sometime before or after my duties at the Frankfurt bookshow.

So, on Monday, October 15th, I boarded an early morning ICE train in Frankfurt and rode south, through Mannheim, Karlsruhe, and Offenburg, to the lovely Swiss city of Basel, home to Myndo and family. (OK, they actually live in a suburb, Muttenz) I'd actually visited Basel many, many years ago, in 1983, but it was mostly a pass-through. THIS time, I got to spend a day with a native, enjoying the many sites of this interesting historic city. And, I had the pleasure of spending time with Corinne, her husband Ruedi and her 8 month old son, Simon.

Corinne, thank you so very much for spending your time with me and welcoming me to Basel. With your reminder help, I'm going to make a little Basel page here which is mostly a tribute and memory to the great day we all shared. And, special kudos to the Swiss weathermen and women.... PERFECT weather. :)
