| Volcanic terrain in rural Ecuador |
| | Rich Soil, born of volcanic fire There are many active and inactive volcanoes in Ecuador. The terrain around these volcanoes consists of extremely rich volcanic soil, which enables a great diversity of agriculture to occur. |
Charming Rural Character Ecuador has a couple of very large cities, Quito and Guayaquil. There are some other large towns, such as Ibarra, Cuenca and Riobamba.
But beyond that, most of the country consists of rural farmland and tiny villages. Each little area seems to have its specialty, be it raising flowers, leather work, woodworking or textiles. And, almost everywhere you go, you'll receive a warm and friendly welcome. | | | Cobblestone lane in a rural Ecuadoran village |
