Salzburg, City of Mozart and fine Chocolate Salzburg is a lovely city, famous for smart cafes, lovely classical music and fine cheese and chocolates.
Birthplace to acclaimed composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the city sings to visitors like a fine violin concerto solo. |
| A sexy cake creation at Damen, Vienna! |
| | Vienna takes the cake The Austrian capital, Vienna (Wien locally), has much about which to brag. The culture and sophestication of this lovely city matchs any throughout the world.
But for me, the thing that I remember as being special in Vienna are the pastry shops.
Damen, just off Stefansplatz (in the center of town), is one of the more famous pastry and bake shops. Any visitor to Vienna should certainly consider stopping for a cup of coffee with cinnamon, and some delectable goodie from the bake shop.
As you can see from my attached Damen photo, the chefs get quite creative at times. |
Innsbruck Innsbruck is world-famous, most recently due to the presence of two different winter Olympiads. Besides being a center of former Habsburg glory, the city also contains many small and friendly inns on its periphery. | | | Hotel/Cafe Klamm, Innsbruck |

I am happy if you liked it in Austria. It is like my second homeland and I dont stop admiring how small it is in the territory and how many things you can find here...just amazing! Greetings from Tirol | mvtouring Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:38 UTC Lovely country with fantastic cakes and chocolates ;-) | toonsarah Sat Feb 23, 2008 20:54 UTC Thanks for reminding me how much I like Austria :) And if it's wine you're after, head for the eastern side of the country - the best of the Blaufraenkisch wines are second to none in my opinion ;) |
