Getting TO/AROUND: Since this is one of the most frequent asked questions and I've now got bored of answering it I've decided to describe the different possibilities for travelling from CDG to Paris.
What to choose depends on your preferences and how much you are willing to pay. Also check out which part of the city you are going to as the RER and the busses have different destinations in Paris and you might as well choose the option that get you closest to your final destination.
1. Taxi. Easy, convenient and expensive. Price app. EUR 40. If you are three persons the price starts to be competitive. Be aware a taxi ride can get much more expensive if you get stuck in a major traffic jam (which happens daily in the rush our).
2. The RER (train) from CDG to Paris (main stations Gare du Nord and Chatelet but there are several). The cheapest option (EUR 7) but in my opinion also the least comfortable. There are two RER stations at CDG; one at terminal 1 and one at terminal 2F. If you land at i.e. 2A, 2B or 2C it will be a long walk to the station or you will have to take a shuttle between the terminals.
3. Air France bus. Two different routes will take you to Paris. Route 2 stops at Porte Maillot and Etoille (Arc de Triomphe). Price EUR 10 for a single, EUR 17 for a return ticket. Route 4, which stop at Gare de Lyon and Montparnasse. Price EUR 11,50 for a single ticket. More info at cars.airfrance.fr.
4. Rossybus. From Opera Garnier to CDG. The fare is EUR 8. More info at www.ratp.fr/ParisVisite/Eng/Voy_
q/Voy_r/Voy_r_spc/rois_bus.htm.
5. Shuttle service. Several shuttle services are operating between CDG and Paris. The price is lower than the taxi and they still take you to the doorstep. To find out more go to google and search for "shuttle paris CDG".
6. Get someone to pick you up. For free and very convenient ;-)
