Off The Beaten Path: Just drive around
  • Tip Rating:
  • Connecticut has some wonderful scenery to offer.. Just driving around you can find many post card shots....like this one...
There are many lakes and state parks for recreation that are very inexpensive for the whole family to have fun, Many times we prefer these to the beaches as they tend to be less crowded...

Off The Beaten Path: Many Lakes
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is just one of many beautiful lakes in Connecticut..This one is in Eagleville...
Depending on the time of year you can go swiming, fishing , boating or ice skating(during winter of course)...
The great thing about it is that from end to end you can drive connecticut in 2 hours , it took us that long to go have that distance in costa rica...

Off The Beaten Path: Bison, Bison,Bison
  • Tip Rating:
  • Not far from my house in Putnam, in the small town or Brooklyn CT is the home of Creamery Brook Bison farm....
Here is a working bison farm that you can come to observe and take a tour around. There is a 40 minute hay ride through the farm and gift shop afterwards...
If you have never seen a bison than here is a good place .........

Nice tips and photos. I will spend a couple of days in Connecticut later in the fall -- so I wanted to check out things to see and do. Cheers, Bill

Thanks for the great tips. I remember when I was really young, we sailed up to Mystic Sea Port and were able to dock in the historic village.
