Windsor Castle and LEGOLAND in Windsor are perhaps what Windsor is most famous for.
Along with Eton, the Changing of the Guard and the Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park and so much more, you can make the perfect holiday! .................................
~~~
Running south from Windsor Castle for a distance of 4km is the Long Walk with impressive views both of the castle and the 19th Century Copper Horse statue to King George III atop Snow Hill.
Part of this northern end of the park is enclosed as a Deer Park home to a large herd of semi-wild deer, reflecting the original medieval purpose of the area.
To the south east of the park, near Englefield Green village, are the popular Savill Gardens and Valley Gardens .
They include an extradorinary range of flowers and trees from around the world. .
~~~ Guard Change ~~~
The Guards can be watched as they march up the High Street and into the Castle, but to see the actual ‘changing’ ceremony you need to have paid to go into the Castle.
The Ceremony takes place outside the Guardroom in the Lower Ward.
To watch the Guards march up the High Street takes only 10 minutes; to watch the actual ceremony inside the Castle takes about 30 minutes.
To watch the new Guards march up the High Street you need to be positioned in the High Street at 10.50am.
Once inside the Castle, the Guards change outside the Guardroom in the Lower Ward at 11.00am.

A homeland is sacred! And it seems that Windsor is a miracle of life!;)
Wonderful tips, full of great info. I was just a kid when my parents had taken me on a European tour, I was in Windsor and saw the changing of the guard, just wish I could get back with my hubbie and see it all for real...
I visited Winsord when I was a teenager... but I hadn't heard of Legoland! It looks great. Cheers.
Hope you have a wonderful New Year and may all of your travel dreams come true. Enjoy life with all that it has to offer.
Hiya, Just passing through to say hiya and hope things are ok and you can replace the cossie, have a good Xmas........Nick
Hiya Nicky, ta for the comment. Not been around here for a while but that will soon change. Just about to get a flight for a week in Poland for Dec 5th. Love the place. Take care, Jon.
I live in Legoland
Wish I could have taken my boys to Lego Land, they were addicts when they were kids when it came to leggos!
Must be a daunting task to do over. Good luck!
