Some art you can hear as well as see. One such piece is part of a public art walk on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) campus, at the northern end of Sand Point Peninsula. While not part of Sand Point Magnuson Park, the NOAA art walk is popular with many park visitors. A half-mile trail gives access to all artworks on the NOAA property.

NOAA's art collection includes six outdoor artworks by nationally recognized artists. Of special interest is the "Sound Garden," located atop a knoll near NOAA's boundary with Sand Point Magnuson Park. This installation features pipes that generate muted tones, with the pitch dependent on the direction and velocity of the wind. In all, the NOAA art collection pleases the eye, challenges the mind and enchants the ear.

Located on the eastern shores of Lake Washington,easily found on Sandpoint way,not far from the University of Washington.The point is surrounded on 3 sides by the lake...bring a lunch,a book,a friend,a camera,your dog on leash,your swimming suit,a bicycle...get the idea?

A nice widy bluff provides ample fun for kite flyers,watching the kites from the sound garden you can see an ebb and flow of the kites dancing gently to the changing tunes....

There are many visitors to Washington state...we wonder about some of them....anyone seeing strange lights in the sky-you know,they also claim to keep seeing bigfoot type creatures here too....
