Road scenery near Oberwiesenthal - Kurort Oberwiesenthal

Having found this resort on a business trip, it's a great place to return from time to time. Nice mountain scenery, great places to stay and a good access to nearby sites like Dresden, or Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic.

The Erzgebirge, where Oberwiesenthal is located, is well known for hiking and skiing (former DDR wintersports centre!), but also for the wooden crafts and toys.

Towns like Annaberg-Buchholz and Seiffen are renowned for that, the latter also for it's (crafts) Christmas market.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Nice resort, great for walks and visiting various sights around
Cons:long and winding roads there, take your time in winter..
In a nutshell:just go there!

Those barren trees on the opening photo are amazing. They're so gray that they almost look to be metallic. The photo conveys the crisp cold of winter. Good work, Pete
