Windmill day

Today, as every day on the 2nd saturday of May is Dutch windmill and cycle day. Cycle trips can be made in almost every region of the country, and will lead you eventually to one or more windmills, and sometimes an "odd" watermill in the south and east.
Great time to have a look inside (free of charge almost everywhere, just as the route!), and have a tea or a pancake, like the one offered in my hometown....

The Torenmolen

Being the oldest of its kind in the Netherlands, ad one of the oldest in Europe the Torenmolen is definitely a must see!
Almost 6 centuries old yet still going strong - it is fascinating being inside and look everything turn and work both inside and out, and walking over wooden planks that date back to the starting days, still intact...
