We had a fantastic stay at the Steiglbrau Hotel! The rooms are in typical Austrian decor, but more spacious than we expected with plenty of storage space and a huge tub/shower combo, almost unheard of in most European hotels. Location was excellent. Staff was exceptionally curteous & helpful! We were on the 5th floor so had exceptional views as well.
Breakfast was 2nd to none to anywhere else we've stayed in Europe, which is just about everywhere. Lovely & popular restaurant, with very sizeable biergarten.
Within 5 minutes walk of the train station.
Unique Qualities: Staying at a hotel that's directly linked to the local brewery definitely had it's advantages. Stieglbrau makes exceptional beer and they had oodles of it on tap at the hotel.
We managed to get this hotel for 54 Euro per room/per night at Easter time(I'm still convinced that this was an error on the GTA hotels site as the rooms usually go for 107 Euro!), but they have already charged my credit card at that rate. Excellent value!
