Things To Do: Tower of David Museum, Jerusalem
  • Tip Rating:
  • tower of david is an monument and a museum as well. i had been there in summer 2000 and there was a terrified exhibition "Dale Chihuly at the Tower of David - Chihuly in the light of Jerusalem 2000". this exhibition was great.
on the top of the tower, you can have a good and unlimited view of part of Jerusalem

  • well, it's famous and a most-visit site. we had always walked through it everyday.
there was (is?) some police and army to have a check at the entrance. but it was alright for me and i found there was no problem for other travelers too. photography and video taking are alright but don't be too rude to shot the people who tends to not be shot.

    thing to be reminded:
1] no vest (show your shoulders)
2] bring some water (even there are some pine)
3] also visit the Dome of the Rock, Islamic Museum and Aqsa Mosque (just uphill of the wailing wall

Things To Do: Masada National Park, Dead Sea
  • Tip Rating:
  • It's a famous archaeological site. I was shocked by the momento atmosphere, 'cos I am a archaeology lover. But I was too lazy to walking around after one-hour hiking (uphill the Snake Path)before sunrise.

Bring a wind-break when you go there before sunrise and bring a t-shirt to change after hiking (all swear...)

It is quite tired after hiking, but don't forget to visit the whole site. You will be regret!!

You are advised to take the cable o downhill. It just take 5-8 minutes and a comfortable trip.

You can join the half-day local tour to Masada and the sites around from the hostels you settled. The fee was around 90NSH (July 2000, about US$25) but mostly not include the Masada entrance fee, and other National Park entrance fees.

2] the basilica of the nativity/church of Nativity (built in 4 century), the birth place of Christ.

3] church of St. Catherine (built in 3 century), just next to the basilica of the nativity

even you are not the christian/catholic or you are the atheists, the glorious atmosphere will impress you

Directions: there shoud be some bus to go. but I wasted time to ask the driver whether the right one. some Israeli cannot understand English. As remembered, we just said "Bethleham, Bethleham..." they seemed not understand. better ask the people in hostel first
