Le bassin d'Arcachon est un étang qui est en contact avec la mer. Le niveau de l'eau monte et descends en fonction des marées, l'eau y est saumâtre. C'est une endroit réputé pour le huîtres, les moules et les coquillage. L'ensemble du bassin, entouré de nombreux villages de pêcheurs est très touristique.
