"Le jardin de Pamplemousses" Pamplemousses by Klod5

The door of entry of the garden, wrought-iron, splendid and shaped well, was a grant of François Lienard de la Mivoie.
On every column an armor is with a lion and an unicorn, surmounted of one crown.

The garden to fact the object, these last years of a privatization project.
The admitted objective being to transform it in a tourist activity place.
Knowing that few botanical gardens in the world are profitable, the setting to execution of a similar project could greatly compromise the integrity of the collections.

The oblong basin that borders the Allée Darwin welcomes the gigantic waterlilies of the Amazon (Victoria amazonica).
It is a plant marvel, whose leaves have the lower face covered with prominent ribs, is bristled of powerful defensive thorns.
The flowers open up late in the afternoon, and last two days, nearly white, and of a discerning odor, and become pink the second day.
