Aglaé se défait des terres arides et garde pour dessiner son parc, les sols les plus riches et les mieux situés, qu'elle draine, assèche, et protège des vents. Sa passion pour la botanique et les plantes la conduit à entreprendre toute une série d'expérimentations. Elle essaie d'acclimater les plantes exotiques, que rapportent par bateaux les grand botanistes de l'époque. Sa patience, ses dons d'observation et ses intuitions sur les besoins des plantes qu'elle recherche à éduquer, sont récompensés par des succès dont le visiteur d'aujourd'hui bénéficie, deux siècles plus tard. Le parc est resté dans la même famille depuis sa création en 1804 (7ème génération actuellement).
