Rudbøl is a nice little village, that has 50 inhabitants. Many of the houses have thatched roofs and are very old.
There are no shops, but an inn, a campsite and a youthhostel. There is a bordershop acroos the border (400 meters). |
| | A special border The border between Denmark and Germany divides this village in a strange way. In a part of this village the border runs in the middle of the street, dividing the village in a way, that villagers on one side of the streeet lives in Denmark and people on the other side of the street lives in Germany.
There are 3 borderstones in the street like the one on the photo. D= Denmark, DPR=Germany. In total there are 288 borderstones like this one, along the border, but normally they are standing stones, and not in the street like theese. |
Rudbøl Lake The lake is beautiful and through this area the river Vidå runs to the ocean (Vesterhavet). The landscape around Rudbøl is very flat and windy as it is marsh-land close to the ocean. | | |

Jesperp Fri Oct 26, 2007 14:36 UTC Hej Mette! Hilsen Jesper |
