Puerto Lopez is a small but busy fishing village on the La Libertad-Jipijapa bus line. The only reason why tourists stop here is that this is the nearest town to Parque Nacional Machalilla.
You can watch the fishermen come back to the beach every morning but except that, there is not much to see in Puerto Lopez. You can however taste the flavour of a real fishing village, without hords of tourists, and the beach is nice with all the little and colourfull fishing boats. |
