Berlin: The City of My Dreams

Summer in Berlin

A beautiful participant in the CSD parade!
Berlin is a city that is both ugly in spots, and incredibly beautiful in others, but it was always interesting to my eyes. You have an enormous amount of history here, even though much of it was destoryed during WWII and replaced or covered during the Cold War years. You have a fabulous nightlife scene with every type of cafe, lounge, bar, dance club, art and music venues you could possibly want. The energy of the city is magnificently diverse.

Many Things Make the Conglomerate that is Berlin..

Troubled, but determined to press forward towards the future, Berlin is so many things, a political and cultural centre, a breeding place for intolerance and hate, but also for understanding and universal love. It is spring now, temperatures are rising, passions, excitement, and Berlin bursts forth bloom and leaf in one of the greenest capitals of Europe. There are simply too many places to see, too many things to do in Berlin, one needs to return again and again. And even those living here, sometimes you just have to chose one or two things a week to do, because literally you can tire yourself out with so much fun.

And please....!

P.S. Am updating my "local customs" and older tips, please don't rate me low just because I've not changed some things. If you have questions about Berlin, please feel comfortable writing me. I will answer as best as I know, or will direct you someplace or someone who can help you more. Thanks!

Pros:"Energy, energy, energy!!"
Cons:"Takes a while to get up to the speed of things if you are not used to it."
In A Nutshell:"Love it or hate it, Berlin always leaves a strong impression on those incoming and locals alike...."

I like to talk about history but I dislike all the prejudices I often hear. I is direful to be faced with all that trash that we are Nazis and must be racist etc. Thats all. I am a Berliner.

Maybe you should let people who can't read 'Denglish' know that a 'handy' is in fact a mobile phone / cellphone, not some tool you buy in a red light district. ;-)

Great tip about the Auenkirche.Unfortunately I didn't make it to the Bilderbuch café this time in Berlin, there's just too much to do in this city.
