Donot buy from inside Venice town .. near St Marks Square . Things are generally 2-3 times thier original price . Buy from outside near the ferry stations just outside the St marks square to thr left . DONOT buy from the Murano sales outlet inside the factory . Go to the other side of the island or go to Burano and by the same things for half the price (although u may not get the same variety .. but i guess its more than enough )
What To Buy: Glass gondola 's , small murano glass show pieces (which are cheaper at Burano) . Coaster s and small painted china glass boxes
What To Pay: glss gondola = 4.5 Euros small moento glass 1.5 Euros

if you want to buy cheap Murano Glass just don't buy, anything under 10 € is made in china. If you want to go bargain hunting don't go for handcrafted traditional objects go for plastic. Italy is the 7th richest coubtry in the world no cheap labor here. |
