Anytime that I can go to Northern Csalifornia, I go. This trip, a road trip, was business, but when that business takes you through the great bread basket of the world, the San Jaoquin Valley, past the Sacramento River Delta area,skirting the Sierra Navada Mountain range most of the way up and then ending up in this Siskiou Mountain range, near Weed, Ca and finally Yreka, I may Just have forgotten exactly what business I was on! Oh yeah, appraisals, homes... and this old, 3 story cape cod was beautiful. The first floor was all basement and looked to have been carved right into the rock slope the house was built upon.It was built in the early 1900's by the local autmobile delership owner that according to the present owner made much ado about keeping the new year models down in this basement garage, until just the right timee and wouild spring them on the town. Now how anyone could have snuck them into town in the first place is a mystery to me, but the space surely could still secret a modern day dealers new model line! the secund floor had fantastic views from every window.Snow packed mountains and forest laiden hills in all directions. The hardwood floors were almost all covered except in the dining room and parts of the treds on the stairs. Tile counters and bath wainscoting looked original and in excellent condition, of neutral color. There was so much space in that home! Cupboards and shelves and closets tucked away neatly here and there made neat workm of rganizing this busy families stuff. I intended on spending a little time out doots, maybe find a park area and walk a bit but as I was finishing up, a clood burst began and kept mre huddled up inside until, seeing that it wasn't going to let up, decided I had better scoot before this higher elevation area started bringing in the white stuff. There was still a chance that I could pick up another assignmentb in Shasta so that
s whewre I headed.
