TrekknHil...Always Boldly Going...to Amsterdam!

Amsterdam 2003

A favorite picture of Amsterdam
A city for all seasons and a city for all reasons.

I have visited during March, May, June, October, November and December. All different times of the year and all very different Amsterdams.

March had great weather with fewer tourists, except, as always, on the weekends. There are always thousands that flood the city on Friday's

May had a few more people than I like but all the extra's that were open for the summer made up for it.

October was great because the weather was still nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the views.

New Year's Eve is not to be missed. The fireworks that are set off are incredible. Ice skating at Dam Square is a great experience

Anytime I went, I found friendly people and lots of interesting things to do.

Pages under construction...check back soon for more pictures and info.

Live long and prosper.
The Dutch will tell you where to go

No worries about getting lost

There are markers around the city to point you in the right direction. Since the city is so compact, it seems, you are never very far from where you need to be.
Which way?

The lions at ARTIS zoo

Make sure you keep your witt's about you...this is a city where you never know what you will see next.

Pros:"A compact city where tolerance abounds, georgeous houses sit on grand canals and several museums hold great works of art...and the weed :)"
Cons:"Flights shouldn't be more than $100 from the US"
In A Nutshell:"Everything you could want in a European vacation city with a dose of Dutch tolerance for good measure!"

That's too funny. I'll have to people watch and see if I can catch a live action "Tourist Bike Crash" for myself.
