We spent only a couple days in Helsinki en route to and from Russia. It was so cold that we spent more than half of the time we intended to be sight-seeing ducking into cafes to regain feeling in our fingers and faces. The windchill was insane.
The people were very friendly in the city and most of them spoke at least basic english. We had fun trying to pronounce the names of places there, with the massive amounts of J's, I's and K's. They must love that section of the alphabet.
This photo is of Helsinki Harbour which was quite scenic - I know that now after seeing the photos. My eyes were closed because when I blinked, my eyelids froze shut. =O
This was Rob's first time seeing frozen water - besides in an ice cube tray. :) |
