SNORKEL at PORT NOARLUNGA
You can see in the photo below that the reef goes parallel to the shore, making the whole area inside the lagoon very calm. You can walk halfway down the jetty and swim the rest of the way to the reef for the best snorkelling. There used to be stairs at the very end of the jetty, but they were removed for repairs a couple months ago. Hopefully new ones will be put up soon since it is a long swim. There is a metal ladder at the very end of the jetty, but it is very long and not recommended for people with fear of heights or low upper body strength.
The last section of the jetty is closed for fishing as it is a National Marine Park, as is the whole reef.
WHAT TO BRING
Pack anything you want for your lunch or if you prefer, there are a few takeaway shops very close to the beach.
Plan to bring a swimsuit, towel, snorkel and sunblock if you want to jump in. If you do not have a snorkel, mask and fins, there is a dive shop about 150 meters from the beach which rents out this equipment ($18/day). Do not forget sunblock and maybe a hat as well!
You can take a fishing pole if you are inspired to.
