Fishermans - Belgrade

Fishermans

Fishing

In the Belgrade area fishing is possible in numerous localities along the Danube and the Sava, as well as on the ponds of the Pancevacki rit. Individual fishing is permitted, but a license valid for one to seven days must be procured beforehand.

The Ada Safari pond is a small lake on the Ada Ciganlija. In 1994, what was once a swamp covered with reed and underbrush, was turned into a pond with a total area of 6 hectares and filled with large and rare specimens of fish with controlled quality. Around the lake there are 30 marked fishing spots that must be reserved in advance and the bait and equipment can also be purchased by the lake.

If you love skiing you can ski in Belgrade too. There is artificial ski ground in park Kosutnjak. You can enjoy in winter sport right here in very center of town in every season of year. It’s not so long (100m) but it would do it.

Rowing club "Galeb" - Belgrade

Rowing club "Galeb"

Rowing Clubs

It would be funny that city who is situated on 2 rivers don't have rowing clubs. They are two rowing clubs at Ada Ciganlija and one in Zemun. At Ada are Rowing clubs Partizan and Crvena Zvezda, and in Zemun is Galeb. Members from these clubs won dozens medals.

Lido - Belgrade

Lido

Lido or Major war island

During hot summer days you can enjoy on 2 city beaches. One is at Ada Ciganlija and other is Lido on River Danube in Zemun. I prefer Lido not because I’m from Zemun, but because it’s river beach - water is colder then in lake and its sand beach. There is pontoon bridge during summer for crossing Danube or you can come to Lido by small fisherman’s boats. Anyway this is place for relax and pleasure.

Ice-hall - Belgrade

Ice-hall

Ice-hall "Pionir"

If you in love with skating you can do that in Belgrade too. Ice-hall “Pionir” is place for you. Indoor ice ground is open from September till April (sometimes longer). Here you can rent ice skates if you don’t have your own. In last few years there are open-ground for skating but it last only few weeks during winter season. You can find this grounds near hotel Jugoslavia, at Square of Nikola Pasic...Some people use Lake at Ada for skating but DON’T DO THAT because of danger that Ice could brake and you don’t want to swim at –5, don't you.

Rock - Belgrade

Rock

Ada Ciganlija

Long time ago was only island but in 1967 it was turned into peninsula. Ada is only 4km from the city center. Covered by thick deciduous forest, and speckled with clearings and meadows, Ada is now the largest, most beautiful and preferred outing area, beach and leisure spot of the Belgraders. Locally we call Ada – Sea of Belgrade because during hot summer days nearly 300.000 come here to swim or engage in other recreational activities. The beach of the lake is fully equipped with all necessary infrastructure objects. Thus it is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on artificial lakes in Europe. The lake water is warmer and cleaner than the river water and thus the lake is highly suitable for mass recreational activities. The position, the quality of the water, the existing equipment and the length of the lake make it an ideal site for top rank competitions on calm waters. The lake is suitable for swimming, rowing, kayak, water polo, water diving, sailing competitions, and several national and international championships were held here. Ada Ciganlija has 50 different open-air sports fields. There is artificial rock for climbing, fields for football, basketball, golf, rugby, baseball, bicycling, Paint-ball ground, Bungee jumps, etc. Also you can fish here at ground called Ada Safari.

Directions: only 4 km from city centre

Marakana - Belgrade

Marakana

Football

Serbian people are some kind fanatics for football. There is lots of footballs clubs: Crvena zvezda, Partizan, Obilic, Zemun, Rad...
On January 5th 1947, the first match between Partizan and Red Star was played on the Yugoslav Army (now only Partizans) stadium. It will be remembered as the most exiting and dramatic game ever played. This match started a decades-long rivalry between the two teams, the fans split into two groups, and the game between Partizan and Red Star became our most important football institution - THE ETERNAL DERBY
