A brief stopover in Vienna certainly inspires me to return for a more thorough look-see. Ringstrasses make for easy wanderings of the central core of the city, and pedestrian-only streets make for excellent peoplewatching opportunities. Beautiful city chock full of imperial architecture evidencing a glorious past. |

It's always fascinated me how many people lay claim to Paris as the spiritual center of their traveling universe, yet so many European cities have such a similar feel for architecture, history, cafes...and all with rivers running through them. Vienna is beautiful in every way -- as anyone sitting in an outdoor cafe, sipping a beer, wine or coffee while peoplewatching -- can attest. |
