Travel through Namibia was a major portion of the overland trip I took with Nomads from Capetown to Victoria Falls (12 Oct - 1 Nov 2003). We spent most of our time driving along the desert of Namibia and camped each night in a new location.
There were serveral highlights of Namibia:
Canoeing along the Orange River
Visiting Fish River Canyon - the second largest in the world next to Grand Canyon
Sunrise hike up Dune 45, one of the largest
Guided desert walk through Sossusvlei
Flamingos in Walvis Bay
Sandboarding in Swakopmund
Cape Fur Seal colony in Cape Cross
Game viewing in Etosha NP

Don't wear white or light colored clothing. Many parts of Africa is hot and dry and you are always covered in dust.... more travel advice
