    Getting TO/AROUND: Albuquerque's main airport (officially called the "Sunport") lies just a few miles south of downtown and is adjacent to Kirtland Air Force Base (sharing runways and fire/rescue facilities).

    There's plenty of parking and the attractive terminal is easy to navigate. A number of places to eat lie both before and after the security checkpoints, providing a wide range of foods but with a Southwestern emphasis. The terminal also includes plenty of artwork and a large collection of model airplanes to look at in addition to a very nice observation lounge.

    If you have a car and a free afternoon, drive south of the Sunport towards the General Aviation area and you will find an "Airplane Viewing Area" at the end of one of the runways. It's a great place to watch planes take off and land.
