Out of the three main islands in this region, Koh Tao is my favorite. When I was there at least, it was much less touristy and much more laid back than Koh Samui or Koh Pang Nang. The beaches were exquisite and while we were there, some were almost totally empty. The island has everything a happy traveler needs, beautiful scenery, abundance of internet shops, scooter rental places, restaurants and bars, great places to stay. I almost didn't leave. This island is truely intoxicating.
