Carnaval!!!

My hero Shot;Overlooking Copacabana Beach, Rio

One Week in Rio De Jeniero!

I had the opportunity to check out the most insane party on the planet in Rio De Jeneiro and I can only say one thing...Damn!!! those Brazilians know how to party. The energy of this country is unreal. There was a lot of poverty outside of the city but the people seemed to have a genuine love of life despite the hardship. Anyway, if you ever get the chance to check out Brazil you won't be dissapointed...beautiful countryside if you venture away from the city...extremely friendly people, good food, and of course ...Samba.
Carlos; Sugarloaf in Rio

My friend Carlos

If you read my homepage you might have an idea on the importance I place on friends and the people I meet along the way. This is my friend, Carlos. I met him on my trip to Rio. He showed me around, gave me good advice, bargained for me, and hung out with me during my trip. We had a really good time and I'm incredibly greatlfull for all his hospitality.

Sambadromo

The most incredible event I think I've ever experienced. The giant stadium designed for one thing...The great samba parade! Not to be missed. For ninety minutes each Samba school dances through with 20,000 students singing and dancing. The crowd was just as crazy singing and dancing in the stands. Unbelievable, hundreds of incredible floats, costumes, music...unfortunately, the pictures I took of the parade didn't come out too well and wouldn't do the experience justice but I did meet a few of the performers.
