| Here I am on the roof of the cathedral. |
I spent five weeks in Cuernavaca attending a language school called Cemanahuac. Cuernavaca is an incredible city and I would recommmend it to anyone that wants to see a myriad of Spanish cultures. Located about an hour and a half south of Mexico City, Cuernavaca lies within close proximity to many other towns that all contain unique characteristics and friendly inhabitants. As with all Mexican cities, the zocalo here is the hub of excitement and most major tourist attractions are found in and around it. |

Teopanzolco These ruins are found in the centre of the city. First settled by the TLAHUICA indians, this site was used as a tribute to the Aztecs. |
| Exhausted, but well worth it! |
Tepoztlán This quiet town is located about 40 minutes away from the centre of Cuernavaca. The best part of Tepoztlán is the pyramid built on the top of Teopozteco, the mountain that overlooks the city. A bunch of us decided to make the almighty climb. We fortunately did not know that it was 6500ft STRAIGHT UP!! There is even an iron ladder you have to climb near the top. It took us about an hour and a half to climb up and 40 minutes to climb down. Well worth it!! The view was amazing! |

| Pros: | "Lots of night life, friendly people, close to lots of smaller towns, lots of public transportation, most tourist spots are free on Sundays!" | | Cons: | "There is a lot of American and Canadian students so you don´t get to see a "true" Mexican culture, the taxi drivers are all pigs!" | | In A Nutshell: | "A definite must-see!" |
